Ricoh has positions the realization of a "zero-carbon society" and a "circular economy" as materialises. Setting ESG targets such as the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, improvement of the renewable energy ratio, and reduction in virgin material usage ratio of products, Ricoh has been working to resolve social challenges through business.

To realize a zero-carbon society, Ricoh seeks to reduce GHG emissions from our group companies by 63% by 2030, compared to 2015, and reduce GHG in the entire supply chain by 40%, compared to 2015, by 2030. These environmental goals have been certified as “1.5°C targets” by the SBT Initiative (SBTi). In addition to promoting decarbonization initiatives within the Group, Ricoh also holds briefing sessions for suppliers and requests medium to long-term GHG reduction targets from key suppliers. Another goal is to achieve a renewable energy ratio of 50% for the electricity used in its operations by 2030, actively promoting the introduction of renewable energy sources with high additionality.

In its pursuit of a circular economy, Ricoh recognizes the essential nature of water resources in business activities. The company has established policies regarding water resources and set targets to reduce water usage below the previous year's performance, actively working across the entire Group to achieve water consumption reduction.

Enhancing its disclosure based on TCFD framework, Ricoh has been publishing TCFD Report since 2021 and Circular Economy Report since 2022 to showcase Ricoh’s strategy and initiatives to address climate change and resource circulation to its stakeholders.

Ricoh will continue to contribute to solving social issues and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through its business activities with its business partners and customers.
